Dallin Turns One

We had a pizza pool party for Dallin's first birthday. It was a little late but, let's face it, he's one and doesn't know any better. He did have a good time as you can see. Dallin is such a sweet little boy. He loves following his big brother and sister and tries to keep up with them. He is determined to things his way and lets us know what he wants. Favorite activities including playing ball, mooching from mom and dad and hugging the dogs. He loves being around people and is not shy at all. His vocabulary consists of the following, "Hi, Dad, Dog, Ball and Bubba." He signs mom, it looks like he is blowing kisses but it is actually his sign for mom. He also signs milk and more and will imitate sounds that you make. He loves to growl and he will click his tongue to call the dogs. The other day he imitated my cough. Andy then coughed to see if that was what he was doing and sure enough, after his cough, Dallin coughed and grinned. He is a little spitfire, climbs like crazy and loves to do what the others are doing. We love him and are so glad he is in our family.

Road Trip

We came up with a way to keep Dallin entertained for a while on our trip home from California. He dug it, for 45 minutes or so.

Improvisation

Dallin likes to pull things out of the cupboards. He realized that bowls can have multiple uses. There were cookies on the counter and he knew it.

The Aftermath

I forgot to post this pic of the ride home. This was less than 15 minutes into our drive back to Grammy and Papa's.

Life's a Beach

The kids had their first beach day while we were in California last week. They had a blast. To quote Riley, "It was awesome!!!" She was freaked out at first with the dead crab carcasses her cousin chased her with but she quickly got over it. She is my water baby and loved running in the surf, racing the waves. Caleb was not as keen about the water. However, the sand was magical. He dug, played and dug playing in the sand. Dallin liked it too. It was yummy.

Easter Hams

In their Easter finery for your viewing pleasure. Riley is now allowing us to put bows on her headbands. I did not have on that matched but she did not care.
