2008, The Year in Review

Last year was a big and busy year for us. The following is a recap that should give you a quick overview of some of the highlights. Hopefully, we did not skip anything too important. Some pictures will look familiar as I have previously posted them.

January- Andy was hired by Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community Dept. of Corrections, finally…He interviewed for the job in April 2007 and was told in June they wanted to hire him. They finally called with a job offer in December. Ingrid started the year on bed rest, 33 weeks pregnant. (It wasn’t too bad, I got a lot of reading in.)
February- Caleb Andrew was born on February 1st, Ingrid’s 35th Birthday!!! Although he 2 weeks and one day early he was 8 lbs 13 oz!!!

Riley turned three and started preschool. I was worried about her riding the bus and being gone so long since she was so young and so little. It was all for nothing. After the first day Riley loved school and riding on the bus was her favorite part. March-Family visits. First my folks came for Caleb's Blessing. Andy's parents and brother and kids came two weeks later. Then my brother and his family came for Easter. We bought a new car; I am now a minivan momma in my 2007 Nissan Quest!
April-Andy graduated from the Arizona State Juvenile Corrections Academy and became at Certified Corrections Officer. Yahoo!!!!To celebrate we made a quick family trip to Sedona. We had a great time and want to go back. Andy went to working nights. (This is kind of convenient when you have an infant at home. You don’t disturb anyone when feeding/changing the baby at night.) Ingrid took the kids for a quick trip to San Diego for her brother’s baby blessing. First road trip alone with two kids; it was an adventure. May- Ingrid went back to work for the City of Chandler Housing Division for 12 hours a week, three hours a day, four days of week. (It allows me to pay for the stylin' minivan.)

June-Ingrid and Caleb flew to Utah for a college freshman roommate 17 year reunion in Island Park, Idaho and Yellowstone, Wyoming. Riley and Andy had a daddy-daughter weekend and she had a couple of sleepovers with friends and cousins. Andy also got another year closer to 40 (38 on the 28th! and no baby on his birthday). Kilo and Bubba turned 8.

July- It was hot. Really Hot. We spent a lot of time at the pool as I taught swim lessons. Riley was in every class, her level or not. She loves to swim.We went for an overnighter in Tucson with Andy’s best friend from high school. Tucson is not as hot as Chandler which was nice. (Riley also pooped in the toilet for first and only time of the year.)

August-We celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary. We think we went to Red Lobster, maybe it was Black Angus. We can’t remember.

September- Caleb cut his first tooth and Riley got her first haircut!!!!
October-Ingrid and a friend took the kids to Utah so she could go to her 10 year reunion for her graduate program and BYU’s Homecoming. They had a great time visiting with family and friends. (It was cold there, a lot more than we were used to. I had to by Caleb his first pair of shoes.)

Andy was sworn in as a Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community Correctional Officer...and got his remaining college credit for his Bachelor's Degree!!!!The kids were Elmo and Cookie Monster for Halloween. November-We learned our landlord wanted to sell our house, found a new place to live, celebrated Thanksgiving a week early, packed up the house and moved… all in three weeks.

December- We rested, started to settle into our new house, spent time with family, said farewell to my grandmother who almost made it to her 92nd birthday and celebrated Christmas. (I have more Christmas pictures but can't download from the camera yet.)

We now look forward to and wonder what adventures we will have in 2009.
